چکیده

Despite all recent advances in medical treatments, infectious diseases remain dangerous. This has led to intensive scientific research on materials with antimicrobial properties. Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are a well-established solution this area. The present work studied the nucleation of silver halloysite substrates modified by chemical treatment NaOH. resulting stabilized Ag-NPs were characterized X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. was thermogravimetric analysis differential scanning calorimetry. properties investigated against E. coli S. aureus . potential for industrial application tested dispersing them into low-density polyethylene. importance affinity between matrix additive through coating dodecanethiol, non-polar surfactant. composites microscopy terms surface activity. results demonstrate that synthesized indeed antimicrobial, it is possible imbue polymeric Ag-NPs.

Sequentially reduced biogenic silver-gold nanoparticles with enhanced antimicrobial potential over silver and gold monometallic nanoparticles

Bimetallic nanoparticles have emerged up as advanced nanomaterials due to the synergism between two metallic nanoparticles in core-shell or alloy arrangement. Moreover, bioinspired synthesis of nanoparticles is an evergreen approach of nanobiosciences. In this experiment, we have fabricated silver, gold and silver (core) gold (shell) bimetallic nanoparticles using leaf extract of Catharanthus r...

Antimicrobial effects of silver nanoparticles.

The antimicrobial effects of silver (Ag) ion or salts are well known, but the effects of Ag nanoparticles on microorganisms and antimicrobial mechanism have not been revealed clearly. Stable Ag nanoparticles were prepared and their shape and size distribution characterized by particle characterizer and transmission electron microscopic study. The antimicrobial activity of Ag nanoparticles was i...

Antimicrobial properties of a novel silver-silica nanocomposite material.

Nanotechnology enables development and production of novel silver-based composite materials. We used in vitro tests to demonstrate the antimicrobial activity of a silver-silica nanocomposite compared to the activities of conventional materials, such as silver nitrate and silver zeolite. A silver-silica-containing polystyrene material was manufactured and shown to possess strong antimicrobial pr...
